The evening’s final destination is Airlie Beach. It’s a party town with plenty of bars and late night action and gateway to the Whitsunday Islands.

Bowen, home to some great beaches, was the next stop along the Bruce Highway.

Horseshoe Bay was one of my favourite spots in the area.

Next along the Bruce Highway it’s Townsville, founded by an Englishman called Mr Towns, the city has a grand Victoria Bridge. The bridge looks amazing when it’s lit up at night.
